In an effort to raise awareness about the March 22nd Caucus in Idaho more than 1,500 Idahoans gathered in Boise on March 12th and took to the streets to support 2016 Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.
In Idaho, Republicans hold all statewide offices. Both houses of the legislature, both U.S. Senate seats and both U.S. House seats are held by Republicans. The last Democratic presidential candidate to win Idaho was Lyndon Johnson in 1964.
Recognizing that this notoriously red state always votes Republican, citizens identifying themselves as progressives and Democrats are inspired to see as many voters turn out as possible on Caucus day.
“It is the one time when our voice really does count in this state and our votes don’t just get cancelled out by the Republican votes,” stated Caleb Hansen of Boise.
Bernie Sanders will address citizens in Boise, Idaho one day before the caucus on March 21, at the Taco Bell Arena at 12pm.
